YouTube: European Commission

The European Commission has launched EU Tube on YouTube. The decision is to open its contents and intentions to the public and especially to the internet-gereration. The main content on EU Tube is in English, but French and German sites are also online. Other languages will be added wherever possible.

The users can watch the activities of the European Union (EU) through video clips illustrating the issues such as the first days of the EU, energy and the new roaming fees.

Youtube is the most favoured website of its kind. The users can upload and watch self made videos, cartoons and clips from television and movies. The name “Youtube” is a composition of the words “you” and “tube”, which is the American slang word for “television”. That means you can make your own TV and decide whatever and whenever you watch.
